Ocean Pier, Visitor Information Center & Gift Shop

350 A1A Beach Blvd, St. Augustine Beach, Florida

The St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier is located on a four-acre beachfront park with many facilities and attractions for the whole family to enjoy.

The gift shop offers several amenities, including food, souvenirs, and beach items.

Please Note: Swimming and surfing are not permitted within 400 feet of the pier.

The St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier is currently closed for fishing until further notice due to work by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on shoreline restoration. Sightseeing is still permitted.

CDD Taxes

A CDD tax, or Community Development District tax, is a fee paid by homeowners in Florida to fund the infrastructure and amenities of new communities:

A CDD is a quasi-governmental entity that develops and maintains the infrastructure and amenities of new communities. CDDs are created by developers who borrow money through bonds and sell them to investors. 

The local Tax Collector collects CDD taxes as part of the homeowner's overall tax bill. CDD taxes are typically paid annually.

CDD taxes pay for the construction, maintenance, and improvement of community amenities, such as swimming pools, dog parks, playgrounds, and community centers.

CDD taxes are usually for a 15–30 year term.

CDD taxes typically range from $120–$2,000 per year.

The minimum combined 2024 sales tax rate for Saint Johns County, Florida is 6.5%. This is the total of state, county, and city sales tax rates. The Florida sales tax rate is currently 6.0%. The Saint Johns County sales tax rate is 0.5%.
